Absolutely terrible experience with the tax advisor service. I asked a specific question about claiming a home office deduction and the advisor gave me incorrect information about the square footage calculation method. When I pushed back with what I had read on the IRS website, the advisor changed his answer without acknowledging the error. I don't trust anything I got from this interaction.

I had a question about my rights during a traffic stop and the legal advisor I connected with kept telling me to consult a local attorney. I understand that's sometimes necessary but I just wanted a basic explanation of my constitutional rights. That's not jurisdiction-specific information. The response was unhelpful and felt like they were avoiding giving any real answer.

I asked the vet about my rabbit's sudden loss of appetite and the expert clearly had limited knowledge about exotic pets. He kept referring to rabbit care the same way he would a dog or cat. Rabbits have very specific GI concerns and his advice to 'wait and see' was actually dangerous. My rabbit ended up needing emergency care for GI stasis, which is life-threatening if not treated quickly. I'm horrified by this experience.

The information service I used was okay but nothing special. I had a general question about setting up an LLC and the response was accurate but surface level. It didn't really go beyond what a simple Google search would tell you. I guess I expected more depth for a paid service. Not bad, just not particularly useful either.

I was asking about a roofing estimate and whether the contractor I hired was following proper installation standards. The general contractor expert I spoke with was condescending and kept asking why I hadn't hired a professional inspector instead of using this service. I found the tone dismissive and unhelpful. The actual information provided was minimal at best.

I was charged for a follow-up question that I thought was part of the original conversation. Nobody made it clear that asking for clarification would cost extra. The mechanic's original answer was incomplete and left me with more questions than I started with, and then I got billed again just to get a full answer. This feels like a bait and pricing scheme. Very disappointed.

The tax advisor I spoke with gave me advice about deducting vehicle mileage that I later confirmed was outdated. The mileage rate he quoted was from a previous tax year. If I had followed his advice without checking I could have filed an incorrect return. I expect experts to have current information. This was a serious lapse.

I tried the information service to get some guidance on starting a small food truck business. The response was okay but very generic. It listed the same general steps you'd find on any government small business website. I was hoping for more nuanced advice specific to my city's permit process or health code requirements. Felt like I was paying for a Wikipedia summary.
